Organizer:

dr hab. Anna Ajduk - Assistant professor at the Department of Embryology, Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw. She has completed research internships at Cardiff University and the University of Cambridge in Great Britain and at the Institute for Biogenesis Research, University of Hawaii in the USA. For over 10 years she has been dealing with the topic of fertilization and early embryonic development of mammals, also in the context of optimizing in vitro fertilization procedures. Currently he runs, among others research on the impact of the aging process on the quality of ova and embryos and on the use of optical coherence microscopy (OCM) in biology and reproductive medicine. Her research was honored in 2013 with the Prof. Stefan Pieńkowski, awarded for outstanding achievements in mathematics and natural sciences. She is a beneficiary of programs of the Foundation for Polish Science, the National Science Center, the National Center for Research and Development, the Schering Foundation and FEBS.


Bio-medical sciences:

dr Maria Górna - molecular biologist and biochemist, head of the Structural Biology Group at the University of Warsaw, after a doctorate at the University of Cambridge and several years of internship at the Center for Molecular Medicine in Vienna. He studies the structure and function of proteins and their applications in biotechnology - currently he is developing new antibiotics and diagnostic tests to detect infections. He also works for the Polish company WPD Pharmaceuticals on drugs for brain cancer and on the board of the Marie Curie Alumni Association at the European Commission.

dr hab. n. med. Magdalena Winiarska - assistant professor at the Department of Immunology of the Medical University of Warsaw. In 2002, she graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Warsaw. In 2008, she obtained the title of doctor of medical sciences. In 2008, she received the Prime Minister of Poland Award for her doctoral dissertation. She is a scholarship holder of the Foundation for Polish Science (START scholarship), L'Oreal Polska for Women and Science (doctoral scholarship), the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (scholarship for outstanding young scientists), the Tygodnik Polityka Foundation (the "Polityka" scientific award "Stay with us ”) and the European Commission (Starting Grant ERC). The research carried out by the team led by Dr. Winiarska concerns the effectiveness of immunotherapy, both related to monoclonal antibodies, and adoptive therapies using effector cells modified with chimeric CAR antigen receptors. In particular, the team is identifying the factors responsible for the development of resistance to anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies.


Environmental Sciences:

dr hab. Monika Kędra - oceanographer and sea ecologist. He deals with the functioning of marine ecosystems, with particular emphasis on the impact of climate change and seasonality on benthic organisms and the carbon cycle. She is the author or co-author of about 50 scientific publications. She took part in many research expeditions, incl. on cruises in the Baltic Sea, Barents Sea, Chukchi Sea, in the Spitsbergen fjords and the Nansen Basin. She is very active in numerous international expert organizations. She is a member of the Academy of Young Scholars. He works at the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Sopot.

Dr. Agnieszka Kloch - Assistant professor at the Department of Ecology, Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw. It deals with the interactions between hosts and parasites at the evolutionary and ecological levels. She is primarily interested in how the evolutionary pressure from parasites shapes the genetic variability of hosts. He works both in the field and in the laboratory, where he uses the latest techniques of molecular biology.

 

 


Science:

dr hab. Joanna Ida Sułkowska - professor at the University of Warsaw, head of the "Interdisciplinary laboratory for modeling biological systems" at the Center of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw and an employee of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw She is a beneficiary of the European Molecular Biology Organization programs, the National Science Center, the Foundation for Polish Science and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. In 2017, she received the international Unesco-L'Oreal award "Rising talent" and the postdoctoral scholarship "L'Oreal Polska for Women and Science". She was included in the group of 50 bold by Gazeta Wyborcza. She received the MocArt award and the title of the Man of the Year 2018 of RMF Classic radio. In 2018, she won the National Science Center Award. In her research, she uses physical and biological knowledge as well as the theory of knots to better understand the structure and function of proteins. For years, he has lectured for young people of all ages, including at the Children's University, the National Children's Fund, or the Jutronauci initiative. He is a mentor in the STEM program.

Dr. Magdalena Osial - assistant professor at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw. On a daily basis, he deals with the production and research of magnetic nanomaterials for their application in medicine. Although she devotes herself to scientific work on a daily basis, she devotes every free moment to popularizing science by coordinating with her passion the Manufaktura Naukowców project. conducts chemical workshops for children, adolescents and adults, school projects focusing on the research method, looks after high school students who, under her supervision in the laboratory, learn the secrets of a scientist's work and conduct mentoring activities to support young people who have just started their adventure with science or plan to start in the future higher education.


Technical studies:

dr hab. Eng. Monika Kwoka - professor of the Silesian University of Technology, works at the Department of Biomedical Electronics at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, and is also the deputy dean of this department. He deals with the nanotechnology of electronic materials, including its application in environmental monitoring. She collaborated with research centers from Germany (University of Tuebingen), Italy (University of L'Aquila, University of Brescia), Hungary (University of Technology in Budapest) and Turkey (Institute of Technology, Gebze). She is a laureate of many awards and distinctions, including the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientist and the 1st Degree Prize of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for scientific achievements. He participates in international research projects of the European Commission (including GOSPEL Network, EuNetAir Network and Clear-Up), as well as in national projects (including Ministry of Development - InTechFun project, National Science Center, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education). Deputy Chairwoman of the Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

dr inż. Katarzyna Matras-Postołek - a chemist specializing in Plastics Technology, a graduate of the Cracow University of Technology at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, where she also works. He is also visiting professor at the University of Jinan in China. For many years she worked at the Münster University of Applied of Sciences, she also collaborated with one of the largest German chemical companies, Evonik Industries AG. She is a beneficiary of grant programs of the Foundation for Polish Science and the National Center for Research and Development, and a laureate of many awards, including the Minister's scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists and the TOP 500 Innovators program. In 2015, she received a gold medal at the 43rd International Invention Show in Geneva. Humanities: 

prof. dr hab. Anna Brożek - philosopher, pianist, music theorist, professor at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw. Author or co-author of fourteen books and several dozen articles in the field of logical semiotics, methodology, ontology, history of Polish philosophy as well as theory and philosophy of music. Member of the Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences, winner of the FNP Prize in 2017. Mother of Ali, Jaś and Staś.

 

 

dr hab. Nicole Dołowy-Rybińska - professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, cultural scientist and sociolinguist. Her main research interests include the issues of the identity of European linguistic minorities, methods of protection and revitalization of minority languages and cultures, linguistic activism, multilingualism and multiculturalism. He conducts field research in Kashubia (Poland), Lusatia (Germany), Brittany (France) and Wales (Great Britain). She is a member of several scientific societies, the author of four monographs and several dozen scientific articles, and a laureate of scholarships and grants (UNESCO / Keizo Obuchi, Foundation for Polish Science, National Science Center, Minister of Science and Higher Education, Lusatian Institute in Germany, Smithsonian Institute).


Social Sciences:

 dr hab. Dominika Latusek-Jurczak - professor at Kozminski University and head of the Department of Management. She was a Fulbright scholarship holder at Stanford University in the USA. Distinguished by the Minister of Science and Higher Education with an award for outstanding young scientists. Lauteatka program "Lider" at the National Center for Research and Development. NCBiR. He is a member of the Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

 

Dr. Agnieszka Dębska - assistant in the Laboratory of Neurobiology of Language Processes at the Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. A graduate of the Inter-Faculty Individual Humanities Studies at the University of Warsaw in the field of psychology and philosophy. At the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Warsaw, she defended her doctorate in the field of psychology of communication. She collaborated with the University of Birmingham (Great Britain) as part of the Etiuda (National Science Center) internship program. Author of scientific publications on psycholinguistics and cognitive psychology as well as on the brain's basis of dyslexia. Winner of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education scholarships for the best students and awards for the best PhD students of the University of Warsaw. Currently, he is interested in the cerebral and behavioral background of reading and writing skills.
