I;m particularly interested in phenotypic characters such as reproductive strategies and colourful signal in animals. In my work I use both extensive fieldwork (which I have conducted so far, among others, in Sweden, Costa Rica and Australia), and modern computational methods and mathematical models. Apart from empirical research, I also use meta-analyses (syntheses of existing published results). I\u2019m also a strong proponent of reproducible science practises and I actively work for the Open Science community.<\/p>\n<p>I defended my PhD thesis in 2012 at the Jagiellonian University, and since then I had worked at a number of institutions, including long-term internships in Sweden, Switzerland and Australia. Currently I\u2019m a associate professor at the Jagiellonian University in Krak\u00f3w. Apart from science, I engage avidly in science communication by producing popular science movies, works bordering art and science. I write for the Przekr\u00f3j magazine, Tygodnik Powszechny, CCPress. I published several books - the most recent one (\u201cBlack Summer.
