Paweł Malinowski

Paweł H. Malinowski, PhD, DSc (Google Scholar), is a researcher at the Szewalski Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery Polish Academy of Sciences employed as a professor of IMP PAN. He conducts research work at the Department of Mechanics of Intelligent Structures.In his work he deals with, among others, propagation of elastic waves, vibrations, electromechanical impedance, terahertz spectroscopy and thermography. He develops techniques for identifying damage in structural elements and health monitoring of structures. He was the principal investigator of Polish research projects (i.e. NCN, NCBR) and a team member in many national and international projects (including Cost Action, FP6, FP7, H2020). Currently, he leads the OPUS projects. He also conducted research work abroad at UCSD (USA,) KAIST (South Korea), Fraunhofer IFAM (Germany) and CNRS (France). During his scientific career, he received the START Scholarship form the Foundation for Polish Science (2011, 2012), the Bronze Cross of Merit (2016) from the President of the Republic of Poland and the awards of the Director of IMP PAN. Paweł Malinowski is a member of the Scientific Board of the IMP PAN and the Committee of Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is an Academic Editor at the Journal of Sensors and Editorial Board Member of Vibration.
