Aleksandra Bilewicz

Sociologist, social anthropologist, adjunct in the Department of Rural Sociology, Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development, Polish Academy of Sciences. She defended her PhD in the Instiute of Sociology, University of Warsaw in 2015. Her research interests include social history and anthropology of cooperatives, sociology of agriculture, deagrarianisation. She authored a two-volume work entitled „Społem 1906-1939. Idea, ludzie, organizacja” (Społem 1906-1939. Idea, people and organisation”). Together with Bartłomiej Błesznowski, she edited „Kooperatyzm” („Cooperativism”), a 12-volume academic series of books devoted to the heritage of the Polish cooperative movement and its social thought. She cooperated with the Max Planck Institute of Social Anthropology in Halle/Saale.
