Ewelina Piktel

She is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine with the Division of Dentistry and Division of Medical Education in English, Medical University of Bialystok. Her main scientific interests are focused on the search for new nanotherapeutics, based mainly on metallic nanoparticles and membrane-active substances, which may find practical application in the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections and cancer.

She received her PhD in medical sciences in 2018 and has been a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in Polish research projects funded by the National Science Center, as well participated in grants carried out in international cooperation. She also expanded her scientific experience during scientific internships (University of Copenhagen, Denmark). She is a laureate of the Polpharma Scientific Foundation Scholarship and a winner of several awards of Rector of UMB for scientific achievements. She presented the results of her research in nearly 50 scientific publications, published mainly in journals from the JCR list.
