Marek Skrzypski

Dr hab. inż. Marek Skrzypski is an assistant professor at the Department of Animal Physiology and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences at the University of Life Sciences in Poznań. He obtained his master's degree in 2006 at the Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology of the Agricultural University of August Cieszkowski in Poznań (currently Poznań University of Life Sciences). He defended his doctorate in 2013 at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. In 2018, he obtained a postdoctoral degree awarded by the Scientific Council of the Institute of Experimental Biology Marceli Nencki PAS. As part of his research, he completed two scientific internships (2008-2011, 2012-2014) at the Charité Medical University in Berlin. His research concerns mainly the hormonal regulation of white and brown adipogenesis as well as the metabolism and endocrine functions of adipose tissue. In addition, his research interests include the biology of pancreatic alpha and beta islet cells. He is a laureate of the programs of the Foundation for Polish Science (two Start scholarships), the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Iuventus Plus, a scholarship for outstanding young scientists), the National Science Center (Preludium, Sonata) and several awards of the Rector of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań for his scientific activity. He published the results of his research in such journals as Diabetologia, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta or Journal of Endocrinology.
