Przemysław Wachulak

P.WachulakLt. Col. prof. dr hab. Eng. Przemysław Wojciech Wachulak has been employed at the Institute of Optoelectronics of the Military University of Technology since 2009, where he deals with the development and application of radiation sources in the field of extreme ultraviolet EUV and soft X-ray SXR radiation for, among others, nanoimaging, holography, radiography, radiobiology, spectroscopy and tomography.

His research is based on laser-plasma EUV and SXR radiation sources, based on a double gas target. In recent years, he has developed the first in Poland, and in terms of construction, the first in the world, microscopes for the EUV and SXR range with a resolution of approx. 50 nanometers. Currently, he is involved in research related to NEXAFS absorption spectroscopy and SXR X-ray coherent tomography in material research.

Lt. Col. prof. Wachulak obtained the professional title of Master of Science at the Faculty of Electronics of the Military University of Technology in 2004. He received his "doctor of philosophy" degree at the Faculty of Electrical and Computing, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, USA, in 2008. The doctorate was recognized at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology in 2009. In January 2013, he obtained a postdoctoral degree in physical sciences in the field of physics, specialization: optics, at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw. In 2018, he received the academic title of professor of technical sciences from the President of the Republic of Poland.

In 2018, he received the academic title of professor of technical sciences from the President of the Republic of Poland. From September 1, 2020, he took the position of Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology in Warsaw.

His scientific achievements include approx. 230 indexed publications, the Hirsch index 24 and over 1700 citations (data from the Scopus database, October 2020).
