Dr hab. inż. Małgorzata Nowacka is an associate professor at the Institute of Food Sciences at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. She obtained her master's degree in 2005 at the Faculty of Food Technology of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. In 2009, she defended her doctoral thesis entitled “The studies of utilization of infrared and microwave radiation for apples drying”, carried out at the Department of Food Engineering and Process Management, Institute of Food Sciences , Warsaw University of Life Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. DSc Dorota Witrowa-Rajchert. In 2018, she obtained a postdoctoral degree awarded by the Council of the Faculty of Food Sciences of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences on the basis of the scientific achievement entitled “The use of sonication as a pretreatment to modify the kinetics of selected mass exchange processes and the properties of plant tissue”.

Dr hab. inż. Małgorzata Nowacka is a specialist in the field of food drying, the application of non-thermal food processing methods, food storage and safety, and packaging. Her scientific and research interests focus mainly on engineering issues in food technology, especially the physical properties of raw materials and mainly plant products. In recent years, together with his team, he has been conducting research on the use of unconventional, innovative techniques (pulsed electric field, ultrasound) as preliminary treatments and supporting heat and mass transfer processes. Additionally, her research interests include packaging intended for contact with food, designing new products and their safety.

She is the author of several dozen scientific publications, mainly in JCR journals. She managed or carried out several research projects financed by her home university, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Iuventus Plus, Miniatura), NCBR (Lider, Biostrateg), ERA-NET SUSFOOD and the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program. Małgorzata Nowacka is a laureate of several Awards of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw for scientific activity and received a scholarship for outstanding young scientists of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. She completed a number of internships, trainings and conducted didactic classes at foreign universities, incl. at Bologna University in Cesena, Italy, University of Padua in Italy, University of Insubria in Italy, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Romania, JJ Strossmayer University in Osijek, Croatia, University of Veterinary Medicine and Food Sciences in Nantes, France. She is a finalist of the second edition of the government program "Top 500 Innovators Science - Management - Commercialization", as a result of which she took a 2-month internship at Stanford University. At the same time, as part of the above program, she obtained the opportunity to complete a 2-week research internship at NASA Synthetic Biology (Mountain View, California, USA).

DSc Małgorzata Nowacka works as an expert of the National Center for Research and Development and Startup Academy. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Polish Young Academy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
