Przemysław Gorzelak

II PGorzelakDr hab. Przemysław Gorzelak - Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. From 2019, the subject editor of Scientific Reports. In 2015-2020, the associate editor of Acta Palaeontologica Polonica. He obtained a master's degree in 2008 from the Faculty of Earth Sciences of the University of Silesia. At the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences he obtained a doctoral degree in 2011 and habilitation in 2019.

His research interests are focused on palaeoecology, functional morphology, evolution and biomineralization of Recent and fossil echinoderms. He is the author or co-author of several dozen scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals from the JCR list.

Several times participant in national and international research projects; he is currently managing a project financed by the National Science Center (OPUS). He completed internships at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He was a beneficiary of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education scholarship (research scholarship for outstanding young scientists: 2013-2016) and the FNP (START scholarship: 2009 and 2010).
