Roman Szewczyk

A graduate of the Faculty of Mechatronics of the Warsaw University of Technology in 2000. He obtained a doctorate in technical sciences in 2003, and a postdoctoral degree in technical sciences in 2009. Since 2001, he has been working at the Faculty of Mechatronics of the Warsaw University of Technology. Since 2000, he has also been an employee of the Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements, where he is currently the Scientific Secretary. Scientific activity of dr hab. Eng. Roman Szewczyk focuses on modeling the magnetic and magnetomechanical characteristics of the newest classes of soft magnetic materials - amorphous and nanocrystalline magnetics. He is also involved in the development of measurement methods for public safety systems and ultra-high accuracy weighing. Professional experience of dr hab. Eng. Roman Szewczyk is both the conduct and implementation of research works including international cooperation with many leading European research teams, as well as the implementation of organizational tasks related to the implementation of projects financed from structural funds and the 7th Framework Program. He is the author or co-author of over 50 publications in magazines from the so-called Philadelphia List, two patents and a patent application. He was the coordinator of two technological foresight projects: "Foresight of priority, innovative technologies for automation, robotics and measurement techniques" implemented from the funds of the Innovative Economy Operational Program in 2008-2010 and the Commissioned Research Project entitled “Monitoring and forecasting (Foresight) of priority, innovative technologies for the sustainable development of the Mazowieckie voivodship” implemented in the years 2006 - 2008. Since 2008, he is also the deputy editor-in-chief in the Journal of Automation, Mobile Robotics and Intelligent Systems. He is a member of the Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the 2011-2016 term, in which he was the Deputy Chairman in the period from June 12, 2012 to September 30, 2014. Scientific activity of dr hab. Eng.
